Maybe you have a family member who has been a fly fishing angler, but you are afraid to ask them to teach you. Or, do you have a friend or spouse who has shown interest in learning to fly fish? Well, you are in luck. GEAR Colorado Fly Fishing offers Introduction to Fly Fishing classes.
This class is a 3 hour course covering the basics of fly fishing. After learning about the gear and correctly rigging a rod, the students get time casting on dry land and 1 hour of casting on a river. Tenkara Fly Fishing Classes
Do you feel that fly fishing is intimidating? If so, then the Tenkara Fly Fishing Classes will be perfect for you.
Tenkara is an ancient Japanese style of fly fishing. Utilizing a collapsible rod and a fixed length of the line, tenkara is fly fishing in it’s simplest form. Because of the simplicity of the required equipment and techniques, anyone can learn this amazingly fun style of fly fishing.
The Tenkara Fly Fishing Classes cover everything from the history of tenkara to advanced kebari (fly) presentation techniques. At the conclusion of this class, the participants will have a solid grasp of this form of fly fishing, allowing them to go out and fish with no trepidation.
Typically, the Tenkara Fly Fishing Classes are offered over a two day period. Day One is a meet and greet with the instructor, as well as an introduction to the history and very basics of tenkara. Day Two is spent learning to cast a kebari (fly) and presentation techniques on the water over a six hour time period. We have chosen Rocky Mountain National Park as the venue for this class because of the “tenkara perfect” rivers and streams found throughout the Park.
If you would like to learn more about tenkara please visit the Tenkara Grasshopper website.
Cost: $200 Per Person (includes 2 hour meet and greet with basic instruction and 6 hours of on water time.)
Note: Class size requires a minimum of three (3) participants. If a class does not have the minimum number of students, it will be rescheduled. Alternate arrangements can be made if special circumstances require. Please Contact Our Class Department with special requests for classes or arrangements.
